  The important oxides of uranium are UO₂, U₃O₈ and UO₃. The dioxide (UO₂) is used as a nuclear fuel element. Triuranium octoxide (U₃O₈), or Yellowcake, is the international standard for the form in which uranium concentrate is marketed. Uranium trioxide (UO₃) is an intermediate product in the refining of uranium.
