Définition :
Modification des gradins renversés dans laquelle le minerai est abattu en commençant à partir d'un niveau et en montant, en soutirant juste le minerai suffisant pour laisser un espace entre le minerai abattu et le front, permettant ainsi aux mineurs de travailler; lorsque la chambre atteint le niveau supérieur, des piliers étant laissés pour soutenir la sole de ce niveau, le minerai abattu est soutiré du magasin.

A modification of overhand stoping in which ore is mined beginning on a level and working upward, withdrawing only enough broken ore to leave a space between the broken ore and the back for the men at work. After the stope reaches the next level above (pillars being left to support the floor of the level), the broken ore is drawn from the stope.
