Procédé de reproduction d'un document original en couleurs à l'aide de trois clichés aux tons primaires : jaune, cyan, magenta, obtenus par sélection photographique au moyen de filtres et d'une trame disposée spécialement pour chaque couleur.
Note :
Imprimés successivement, les clichés reconstituent, par superposition et repérage, toutes les nuances de l'original.

The method of printing in which all hues of an original are considered possible of reproduction by use of three separate printing plates, each plate used for printing or recording one of the primary colours of the original.
Note :
The plates usually are made by recourse to three-colour photography and the employment of halftone separation negatives, though they may also include plates made from line drawings and shading sheet originals, as well as those produced by bendaying and manual separation of colours on each of the plates.
