Masse jaune verdâtre, cassante, friable, à cassure brillante, issue d'un palmier Copernica cerifera; odeur de foin à l'état fondu.

An extremely hard, brittle wax, m.p. 84-86 °C (183-187 °F), obtained from the leaves of a Brazilian palm tree. Its high cost limits its uses, one of the most important being in carbon paper; it also finds application in floor polishes, leather dressing, and electrical insulation. It is excellent for preventing deterioration of rubber products due to sunlight.
