A blend of hydrogen and carbon monoxide in varying proportions obtained from coke, natural gas, or other carbonaceous materials, usually by reaction with stream in the presence of air. It contains a considerable percentage of nitrogen.
A mixture of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) containing small amounts of nitrogen, some carbon dioxide, and various trace impurities prepared for petrochemical synthesizing processes.Note :
It is used for a number of important synthesis operations, including production of ammonia, methanol, and a wide range of organic compounds.
