  Définition

  A reaction between an acid and a base as a result of which the distinguishing properties of the acid and base disappear, the products of the reaction being a salt and water, for example: 2KOH + H₂SO₄ = K₂SO₄ + 2H₂O.
  
  The process of adding an acid or alkali to a solution to make that solution neutral or inert.

  Note :

  This common acid-base reaction is used in laboratory analysis (titration).
