Définition :
Grand vase à panse ovoïde à long col et à deux anses qui servait à transporter l'eau du bain nuptial.
Note :
Il y avait aussi des loutrophores funéraires qu'on plaçait sur la tombe de ceux qui mouraient avant leur mariage : ils n'avaient pas de fond pour que les libations puissent pénétrer dans la terre.
