Définition :
Interchangeabilité basée sur le principe qui consiste à réaliser les différents éléments mécaniques à des tolérances suffisamment étroites pour qu'un spécimen quelconque d'un certain élément (p. ex. d'un arbre) puisse être monté avec un spécimen quelconque de son élément conjugué (p. ex. d'un alésage) avec un ajustement déterminé.
