Définition :
Parlant d'un arbre on dit qu'il est de droit fil lorsque les fibres du bois sont approximativement parallèles à l'axe de la tige; parlant d'une pièce de bois débité elle est de droit fil lorsque ses quatre faces ont été sciées sensiblement parallèlement au fil.
