  Term used to indicate the form of a mineral body having the characteristic outward form from another mineral or object it replaces, e.g. phytomorphs and salt pseudomorphs.

  Note :

  The habitus of pseudomorphic grains is generally indicated using self-explaining descriptive terms such as: barrel-shaped, lenticular, needle-shaped (acicular), platy, prismatic, rhombohedral, spindle-shaped, tabular.
