  Définition

  A term used to designate an organic compound in which the univalent cyanogen group (CN) is present, the parent substance being hydrocyanic acid, HCN. Among the more important nitriles are acrylonitrile, acetonitrile, and adiponitrile.

  Note :

  A synthetic rubber called nitric rubber is made by copolymerizing acrylonitrile and butadiene. With a few exceptions, nitrile compounds are poisonous.
