Date :Définition
A heterocyclic nitrogenous compound, b.p. 131 °C (268 °F), having the composition represented by C4H5N; it is an unsaturated five-sided ring which is considered to be a resonance hybrid. It is a constituent of indigo and other natural pigments and also is the source of the phthalocyanine group of colors. Pyrrole groups are present in both chlorophyll and hemoglobin.
Note :
The natural product can be obtained from coal tar and is also synthesized catalytically from ammonia and furan. Pyrroles readily combine with such metals as iron, copper, and nickel, which accounts for their importance in the formation of such biochemically essential complexes as porphyrins.
