An element. State: Solid; Group: IA; Atomic No.: 37; Atomic Wt.: 85.467; Valence: 1. A metal, m.p. 39 °C (102 °F), of the alkali group and hence extremely reactive, especially with air and water; it should be stored in an inert atmosphere or under kerosine. It has only one stable form.
Note :
It is available in only small amounts, it chief uses being in electronic devices, through research has been carried on in other fields such as heat-transfer and thermionics. It is classed as a flammable material.
