Note :
Le marché hors cote est souvent considéré comme une première étape pour une société qui demande que ses titres (particulièrement ses actions) soient admis à la cote officielle.

A market for securities made up of securities dealers who may or may not be members of a securities exchange.
Note :
It is a market mainly made over the telephone. Thousands of companies have insufficient shares outstanding, stockholders, or earnings to enable successful application for listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Securities of these companies are traded in the OTC market between dealers who act either as principals or as brokers for customers. It is the principal market for U.S. government and municipal bonds and stocks of banks and insurance companies.
