Date :Définition
A term of very broad meaning, but essentially dealing with changes in the processes of production which result in the displacement of human labor or human skills by machine operations. Mechanization may achieve a better flow of materials and increase output through the introduction of new and better machinery.
Note :
Although a great boom in the ability of man to increase production, mechanization has over periods of time created much unrest and economic disorganization when it resulted in mass layoffs of employees and has come without adequate protection and planning to take care of the needs of individual workers whose jobs are threatened or have been displaced. A similar movement is currently in progress, sometimes referred to as the "Automation Revolution".
