The word "kelebe" as described by Athenaios is clearly intended to imply a drinking-cup of some kind. He quotes from Anakreon who spoke of drinking its contents at one draught. On the other hand, he quotes the authority of Pamphilos for identifying it with a water-heater or a kind of kettle.
