  Définition

  The distinctly patterned and colored silk or nylon jacket and cap worn by a jockey or harness driver during the race to identify the owner of the horse.

  Notes :

  Each owner has his own distinctive colors and pattern registered with the state racing authority so that the particular pattern and color combination is reserved exclusively for his horses. It is the color and pattern of the silks that the caller uses to distinguish the different horses.
  
  The blouse (of silk or some suitable material) and peaked cap worn by a jockey and carrying the colours of the owner.
