  Définition

  A common variation of the stirred batch fermenter. After the system is inoculated and while the culture is growing, a feed stream of some key nutrient is added to the fermenter. This is still considered a batch system, as the entire contents of the fermenter are removed or harvested as a batch. For this type of operation the fermenter volume increases over the course of the run.
