Définition :
Génératrice tachymétrique avec rotor en court-circuit dont l'un des deux enroulements statoriques est excité par un courant monophasé. Le second enroulement statorique engendre un signal sous la forme d'une force électromotrice monophasée dont la fréquence est celle du courant d'excitation, dont l'amplitude est proportionnelle à la vitesse angulaire du rotor et dont la phase s'inverse quand s'inverse le sens de rotation.

A tacho-generator having a stator with two windings, one of which is excited with single-phase a.c. voltage, and a short-circuited rotor. The second stator winding generates a signal in the form of a single-phase electromotive force whose frequency is the same as that of the exciting current, whose amplitude is proportional to the speed and which reverses in phase when the direction of rotation is reversed.
