  Spectacle blinds are being used to ensure 100 percent cutoff to flow in a piping system. Spectacle blinds are so-called because their appearance resembles a giant pair of spectacles. One side is the solid blind flange; the other side is cut so full seating of the gasket surface is accomplished while providing full flow through a cut-out inner circle.
