  Note :

  The "ideal" hybrid coupler passes an incoming signal from its 4- wire "in"-port to its 2-wire port, attenuating it by 3 dB, and does not pass anything to the 4-wire "out"-port. Conversely, it passes signals (again with 3-dB attenuation) from the 2-wire port to the 4- wire out-port, without reflecting any energy back into the 2-wire line.
