  Note :

  A man completely new to a hot mine will find great difficulty in doing any appreciable amount of work. Within a short period, his body will have improved its mechanism for heat loss, the rate at which the man can sweat will be much increased, pulse rate decreases, body temperature falls, and the man is then said to be "acclimatized" to hot working conditions.
