  Définition

  An auxiliary airfoil at the leading edge of the wing of an airplane that is normally closed to form part of the regular contour of the wing but that may be opened to form a slot when flight conditions require it.
  
  A movable auxiliary airfoil on the leading edge of a wing. It is closed in normal flight, but extends at high angles of attack to duck air over the tip of the wing to delay the separation or stall.
