((Logistic growth curve)) is a special type of curve used for describing the growth of population in a physically delimited area. The logistic curve is an S-shaped on arithmetic graph paper. In the initial periods of growth, the absolute increments are increasing in size, and in the subsequent periods, the absolute increments are decressing. This growth will be asymtotir (approches but never reaches) to some value. By establishing upper and lower limits to the possible population, the curve overcomes the defect of foreiasting obviously impossible populations (i.e. infinite and/or negative numbers).
