Définition :
La cachexie cancéreuse est le stade évolutif terminal de la maladie /cancer/, à la phase de généralisation et de dissémination métastatique diffuse. Elle entraîne un amaigrissement considérable, une anémie importante, une asthénie extrême, avec parfois des douleurs dont l'intensité est fonction de la localisation des métastases.

Cachexia may be described as consisting in a marked loss of weight, breakdown of tissue proteins and lipids, negative nitrogen balance, dysfunction of important physiological systems, including muscular weakness, and anorexia.
