Malformation produced by the union of two developing adjacent teeth.
Notes :
Fusion occurs most often when a normal tooth becomes fused with a supernumerary tooth. Radiographs of fusion show a double root with two pulp canals.
Fusion and gemination may be difficult to distinguish. A count of teeth present may be helpful since in fusion there should be one tooth missing.Termes :
