Date :Définition
THe simplest and most economical method of manipulation for oriental tobaccos, in which the leaves are simply loosely filled and packed into bales.
Note :
Differentiations are made between Maxul Tonga where the bales contain the UTsch to Ana-group and the simple Tongas which contain the leaves sorted out of the Maxul (faulty leaves) and the so-called Dips (lower hands). The Tonga manipulation was used before the First World War only for medium and lower island and Izmir tobaccos but it is today the general method of manipulation in the east for economic reasons and because with a few exceptions most of the tobacco is processed in the cigar industry.
