Définition :
Cul-de-sac irrégulièrement circulaire formé par la conjonctive se réfléchissant de la face postérieure des paupières sur la face antérieure du globe oculaire. On distingue un segment supérieur (fornix conjunctivae superior) et un segment inférieur (fornix conjunctiva inferior).
