Pilot in charge of flying an aircraft and responsible for its safety on a given flight.

((...)) a pilot who is in command of the aircraft and its crew members while on flight duty, and who is responsible for the manipulation of or who manipulates the flight controls of an aircraft while under way, including the take-off and landing of such aircraft and who is properly qualified and designated by the Company as a Captain and holds current effective Ministry of Transport or other governmental certificates authorizing him to serve as such pilot.
