((Permutation)) of physically linear DNA molecules in bacteriophages with the same set of genes arranged in the same order which are related to each other as if each had once been in a circle, and the circles had been opened by randomly distributed breaks.
Note :
In addition to their fixed length and circular permutation, these DNA molecules have a terminal redundancy. Such molecules reveal unusual recombination frequencies suggesting genetic circularity.
