  Définition

  A siliceous (i.e. acid) refractory material which can be wet moulded and then sets hard at high temperatures, basically kavlin (Al₂O₃, 2SiO₂, 2H₂O) with variable amounts of SiO₂, Fe₂O₃, CaO, TiO₂, etc., it may shrink up to 10% or more on firing.
