The heat evolved or absorbed when a substance is dissolved in a solvent.
Note :
The total or integral heat of solution is the heat change resulting when one mole of solute dissolves in a definite amount of solvent. Most values are of this type. The partial or differential heat of solution is the heat change involved when one mole of solute dissolves in such a large amount of solution of definite concentration that the concentration is not appreciably altered. Both types are expressed in calories per gram or in kilocalories per gram-formula weight of solute.
