Définition :
Explosion chimique dans laquelle la zone de réaction se propage dans le milieu initial principalement par conductivité thermique.
Note :
Une déflagration, à la différence d'une simple combustion, induit en général une onde de choc dans l'air.

Date :Définition
Explosion in which the combustion zone propagates through the material by thermal conduction.
A type of explosion involving rapid and self-propagating combustion of a flammable solid, usually containing potassium or sodium nitrate (black powder) or nitrocellulose (smokeless powder).Notes :
It is induced by heat, friction, or impact.
Deflagration occurs at the particle surfaces of materials classified as low explosives, in which the combustion products flow away from the unreacted material. It differs from detonation, characteristic of high explosives, where the decomposition products flow toward the unreacted mass under high pressure. When a low explosive deflagrates in a confined area, the combustion rate increases rapidly to the point of detonation (nitrocellulose). Some high explosives will deflagrate if unconfined.Terme :
