Note :
In fungi, a cell, hypha or mycelium with haploid nuclei of different genetical constitution associated together in its cytoplasm; number of nuclei per cell may be stable or vary. In Fungi Imperfecti variation in relative proportions of different nuclei on different substrates provides a system of somatic variation and adaptation. May be artificially produced by fusion of different plant cells or animal cells.
