  Sudden symmetric erythema of the face and upper trunk, usually associated with throbbing headache and bounding pulse, and histaminuria; seen in urticaria pigmentosa, it may also occur a few minutes after eating fish of the scromboid family (red snapper of mahimahi) contaminated by Proteus during cold storage prior to cooking.
