  MOLGEN is a planner that operates in the field of molecular genetics. It is a type of "hierarchical planner" in that it operates in three spaces: the laboratory space (molecular genetics), the design space (the plan) and the strategy space (meta-plan). I
  
  It also adopts a "least-commitment strategy" for as long as it can, but if needed it will employ HACKER-type heuristics to make intelligent guesses.
