  Définition

  ((...)) a smoothing operation whereby an n x n spatial filter is applied to each point P in the grey level image.

  Note :

  The set of grey level values of all of the pixels covered by the filter are examined and the median is found. This value replaces the current grey level at P. Median filtering works best when the noise is additive noise (i.e. where the value at a point is very different from that of the points in the neighbourhood determined by the size of the filter).
