Forming process in which a stream of liquid metal is atomized by an inert gas to form a spray of molten droplets which are accelerated towards a substrate where they impinge and consolidate.
Note :
The atomized particles, moving at high velocity, are directed to and impinge on a moving belt constructed of ceramic blocks. While moving from the gas atomizing unit to the belt, the particles are cooled to just above the solidus temperature. These particles are further compacted by rolling and are free from macrosegregation.
