Définition :
La « puissance électrique disponible d'un aménagement thermo-électrique », référée à un instant donné, est la puissance électrique maximale réalisable par l'aménagement pendant un temps de fonctionnement déterminé et dans les conditions réelles où il se trouve à cet instant, à l'exclusion toutefois des possibilités d'évacuation de l'énergie électrique produite, qui sont supposées illimitées.

Exprimée en kW ou autre multiple du W.
Elle caractérise donc les possibilités à l'instant considéré de l'ensemble des installations de l'aménagement. Elle peut être brute, semi-nette ou nette, comme la puissance maximale possible. On considère les deux puissances suivantes, référées chacune à un temps de fonctionnement déterminé et aux normes admises : A. Puissance disponible de 1 heure. B. Puissance disponible en marche continue (pratiquement égale ou supérieure à 15 heures).

The "available electric capacity of a thermal electric station" at any given moment is the maximum electric power at which the station can be operated for a given period under the actual conditions prevailing at the station at that time, but disregarding the facilities available for disposing of the energy produced, which facilities are assumed to be unlimited.

Available capacity thus indicates the potentiality at a given moment of all the plant at the station. Capacity may be installed, semi-net or output as the maximum capacity. Two ratings are recognised according to the length of the period of operation and to accepted standards, thus: - A. Available capacity for one hour. B.
